Define FUN????

Also taking residence here on the hill are 4 dogs (Chloe-blueheeler, Jack-shitzu a.k.a. my dog, 2 great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs-polka dots & ice cream and yes they are just as ferocious as their names sound) 1 cat and a little over a dozen goats. My dear husband bought these goats because he thought it would be "FUN" for the kids and someone told him that goats are a relatively maintenance free sort of livestock "they will just basically take care of themselves." HUH!!! Wherever that person is right now, I would like to say-"ARE YOU CRAZY!!!" I have just spent the last couple of days trying to keep baby goats alive, a task which I have been very unsuccessful at, seeing as 4 of the 6 babies that came in the last two days have died. As a girl who grew up in town...with no experience whatsoever at taking care of animals...this has been a learning experience (that is putting it nicely). Without the help of my wonderful in laws probably all 6 babies would have been goners. Since my dear husband is working two jobs he has missed out on most of the "FUN". There are several more goats still to kid and hubby will be home for 4 days...so I expect no goats will come in the next few days. Oh well!! The babies are sooo cute, you can't help but love them and the kids really do like the goats. So I will just suck it up and toughen up all for the sake of "FUN".
