~Cooking weekend~
and numerous other items
browned or prepared into meals to be frozen
for easy/husband friendly meals (directions on the package) for nights when I am at class and he is in charge of supper.

This wasn't a feat I accomplished alone...I had lots of good help!

Ended with:
2 pans of Lasagna
2 pans of beef enchiladas
2 meat loafs
1 tater-tot casserole
1 container of meatballs
3 lbs. of taco meat
2 lbs. of chilli meat
2lbs. of spaghetti meat
2 containers of sloppy joe's
2 loaves of banana bread
2 batches of cookies (1 chocolate chip, 1 oatmeal scotchies)
5 dozen cinnamon rolls
and a feeling of peace knowing that I am not going to have to worry about dinner for my family on nights when I am rushing to class....at least for a little while.

Back to School
The start of the school year is always exciting! I am a geek that has always loved when the end of August rolls around-school starts, fall sports start, fall decorations come out, my birthday is right around the corner along with 2 of my 3 children. I just love everything about this time of year! But this year is especially exciting. I have started back to school...which I am still pretty excited about-I think that is a good sign.

J7 has started 2nd grade with a new teacher and is lovin' it!

First Day of School
Princess4 has started preschool and is doing better than I could ever have imagined.
See how happy she is to be going to schoolJust kidding this isn't the first day picture
-just a normal everyday picture-
This is the first day of school picture

And the big kicker is daddy is teaching this year and HE is loving it...of course he has only had 1 day so far :) but he thinks he is really going to like it.
Daddy's classroom

This makes the back to school process even more exciting for our family. We have all enjoyed being at the school helping daddy get ready and being in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. So I am a little sad that the summer is coming to a close but also very excited that school has started and fall is nearly here! The first home softball game is Monday night -but it just dawned on me I have class and won't be able to be there to see my Courtney play her last first game...(a little teary)...

Gotta love "my Courtney" (as Jaden says)

Courtney
and Aunt Alisa
(at homecoming last year)
are both seniors this year...where has the time gone. I am not ready for them to grow up yet. A little late for that I guess.
The first home football game is next Friday night and we are going to all be able to go cheer on our team! GO BULLDOGS!

Betcha didn't know...
I could build a website?? ...I didn't either but...I did...er kinda. Jason has been trying to work on one for his budding Amsoil synthetic oil business for quite a while but never had the time to finish it (imagine that). So I finished 'er up. It isn't half bad either. It is not fancy by any means but it gets the info out there and that is all he asked of me. Now I just need to figure out how to promote it??? Cause it won't do any good if we are the only ones who know about it will it? You can take a look at it here if you would like

Also...on another website building matter...
I have opened another firstgiving site for our Alex's Lemonade Stand (which is six weeks from today by the way). You can check it out also if you would like.

I am starting to get things rolling with that and will fill you in with more details later. Right now I am praying that the mailman brings my text book for my class. I have to read three chapters by Monday and journal about what I read...kinda hard to do without a book.

School days, school days...
note those huge pink shoes that belong to the princess who is starting preschool
New backpacks
New school suppliesWe are ready for school because - ready or not - it is here! I had my first "fall term" class last night (even though it is technically still summer with a heat index of 120 I think...haha) and I have already worked on my first assignment for that class. Daddy has decided to try out this teaching thing and is pretty pumped about it! So he is looking at lesson plans and preparing a syllabus and trying to mentally prepare for his first day, while the kids are physically prepared with new shoes, backpacks and school supplies. Don't you just love dragging three wild kids out on a hot august day to try to fit them with shoes and clothes and search high and low to find just the right backpack? It is one of the most enjoyable parenting pleasures, right???
