OK...Prepare yourselves...this is a long one!

First off...

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

and tomorrow-Sat. Sept. 13 is the day designated to honor it.

So as you are going about your weekend please join us in remembering in prayer those families fighting the battle of childhood cancer.

~Here are a few facts about childhood cancer you might not know~

• Cancer is the #1 disease killer of children, cutting short the lives of more children
under the age of 20 than any other disease. More than 2,300 children die from
cancer each year.

• Every school day, 46 young people, or two classrooms of students, are diagnosed
with cancer in the United States. More than 12,500 children are diagnosed with
cancer each year and over 40,000 children and adolescents currently are being
treated for childhood cancers.

• The average age of diagnosis for childhood cancer is six years old. The potential
years of life saved for each child with cancer is approximately 66 years.

• The cause of most childhood cancers are unknown and at present, cannot be
prevented. One in every 330 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer.

• Over the past 50 years, advancements through research have transformed
childhood cancer from a nearly incurable disease to one with an overall 78% cure
rate. However, some forms of childhood cancers continue to have a very poor
prognosis.

• The incidence of childhood cancer has increased every year over the past
25 years.

• Cancer in childhood occurs regularly, randomly and spares no ethnic group,
socioeconomic class or geographic region.

I am late getting this posted I intended on getting this info out earlier...but like a lot of my good intentions that is all they ever are.

Princess4 was invited to a Childhood Cancer Hero train ride in Baldwin City, KS tomorrow in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Day but we aren't going to make it because....

WE ONLY HAVE 1 WEEK LEFT TO GET READY FOR OUR ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if I am ready or not....I am starting to panic now but I am sure everything will work out fine.

Our prayer for next weekend is that God will use us and Libby's story for His glory. Maybe we can share His love and share about His Healing with those in our community and raise some money for childhood cancer research while we are at it.

Now on to another subject-

Do you know what this ....

and this means....????

Our goats are gone...yippee...er I mean....sniff sniff

Fare thee well thou fare goats-

I hope your next owner has better luck at keeping you and your offspring alive than I!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So guys, how do you feel about taking the goats to the sale barn?"
a little happy, a little sad
a little mad
"How do you feel about it daddy?"
a little confused?????
huh?
(you really shouldn't drive with your eyes closed)
All that is left of our goats now is our memories-
and the little presents they left for us in the trailer-dad washed out into our yard-(sorry for the yuck factor) nothin' like home grown fertilizer.
-Signing off for now. - I wouldn't expect to hear from me for a while if I were you. At least until next weekend is over. Then I have a big presentation to make the Monday after that so we could be looking at a little lapse in blogging for a while. But you never know, I might just surprise you!
Wow! I'm so impressed by your pictures with your new camera! I'm also very impressed by your ability to keep up on your blog. I'm now going to go over to mine that hasn't been posted on in months and update it!
